Your Session Experience

interacting with people is my sweet spot. I use our time shooting to get to know you and prompt authentic interactions.

When you reserve a session time with me, you are not getting a detached photographer who is putting a camera between you and herself and quietly shooting. I like to keep sessions friendly with humor, constant dialogue, and gentle posing directions. I am efficient with the time we have, and use it to make my subjects feel at ease so that the end result is a true-life capture of who they are. For family sessions, I ask parents to be the anchors for most poses, but I don’t burden them with the responsibility to make sure everyone is doing what they should. That is my part, and I love to play it. Corralling wandering kids can be challenging when you’re trying to look at the camera and smile, so I use some kid banter and silly sounds to hold their attention. Sometimes I follow the little adventurers and snap some individual portraits on the fly! Anything can happen, and I am prepared to roll with it all.

In-home sessions, whether they be newborn or storytelling experiences, have a very relaxed, be-yourself vibe. I usually shoot one or two posed portraits and then let events unfold as they may, documenting all of your details and sweet interactions.
